Raleigh’s partnership with the Central Pines Regional Council and other local municipalities in the Solarize the Triangle project has proven to be a success. Over the course of 2022 and 2023, hundreds of Raleigh residents participated in the program, resulting in numerous signed contracts and a significant increase in solar energy capacity within the city.

According to recent data, Raleigh has witnessed the installation of 600.81 kW of new solar energy capacity, which generates an impressive 835,779 kWh of energy annually. This not only contributes to the city’s clean energy goals but also leads to substantial financial benefits for participants. With an estimated $108,651 in annual savings, those who have embraced solar energy through Solarize the Triangle are reaping the rewards.

Furthermore, the Solarize the Triangle project has had a broader impact on the region, extending beyond individual benefits. The initiative has facilitated $1.6 million in clean energy development, further propelling the transition towards a sustainable future. Additionally, this collective investment in clean energy has resulted in the avoidance of 560 tons of CO2 emissions each year. To put this into perspective, it is equivalent to removing 125 cars from the road or planting over 9,000 trees, highlighting the significant environmental benefits of the program.

Solarize the Triangle’s accomplishments align with Raleigh’s commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, as outlined in the Community Climate Action Plan. Through this initiative, the city is actively working towards its sustainability goals while empowering its residents to embrace renewable energy sources.

In reflecting on the success of Solarize the Triangle in Raleigh, Mayor [Insert Mayor’s Name] expressed their enthusiasm, stating, “The Solarize the Triangle project has exceeded our expectations and demonstrated the immense potential of solar energy in our community. We are proud of the positive impact it has had on our city, both economically and environmentally.”

The success of Solarize the Triangle in Raleigh serves as a testament to the effectiveness of community-driven efforts in promoting clean energy. As the city continues to prioritize sustainability, initiatives like Solarize the Triangle will undoubtedly play a crucial role in shaping a greener and more resilient future for Raleigh and its residents.
