Raleigh Solid Waste Services announced on Apr. 30 that it will host a yard waste bag giveaway for residents on Friday, May 8, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Wilders Grove Solid Waste Services Facility. The event is part of International Compost Awareness Week and offers five free biodegradable yard waste bags per visitor.
The event aims to help residents prepare for the upcoming transition to weekly Enhanced Yard Waste Pickup in September. Staff members from Solid Waste Services will be present to answer questions about this change and provide information about composting practices.
The facility is located at 630 Beacon Lake Drive in Raleigh, with visitors asked to use the main entrance at Corporation Parkway and Commerce Park Drive. Residents are encouraged to register in advance if they plan to attend.
