The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Marine Fisheries has announced that the Standard Commercial Fishing License Eligibility Board will hold a meeting by conference call at 10:30 a.m. on October 22. The purpose of the meeting is to review and consider commercial fishing license applications that have been completed and submitted by September 24.

Members of the public are invited to listen to the proceedings by dialing 919-212-5733. Attendees are requested to mute their phones and refrain from announcing their names during the call to minimize disruptions. Additionally, the public can listen in person at the department’s Wilmington Regional Office, located at 127 Cardinal Drive Extension in Wilmington.

The board convenes two to three times each year to evaluate license applications for commercial fishing activities. Those interested in applying for a commercial fishing license can find application instructions at https://deq.nc.gov/scfl-eligibility-pool by clicking on the Eligibility Pool Application link.
