The Wake County Republican Party in July voiced its support for Wake School Board District 8 candidate Steve Bergstrom.
The Wake County Republican Party stated that Bergstrom is, “Another great candidate running for School Board," in a July 10 Facebook post.
On his own campaign Facebook page on July 10, Bergstrom has called out the lack of preparedness on the part of the current board in making sure the schools, parents and children are on their best footing heading into the new school year.
“As a pilot, I don't get paid to fly only when it's sunny and clear,” Bergstrom posted. “I'm there for when something goes wrong.”
While he posted that he was happy the schools have not capped the number of students who can choose to attend school virtually, Bergstrom criticized the position the schools are in with only five weeks remaining before the new academic year begins.
“But everything else has been an unmitigated failure in leadership,” he posted.
