CITY OF RALEIGH: Raleigh Transportation Hosting Field Service Job Fair Sept. 16 - 17

City of Raleigh issued the following announcement on Aug. 25.

The Raleigh Department of Transportation is hosting a job fair to recruit for various field service positions. The two-day event will be held Friday, Sept. 16 and Saturday, Sept. 17 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days.

The job fair will be held at the Raleigh Central Operations Facility, at 2550 Operations Way. The event is free and open to all candidates and backgrounds. Hiring managers will conduct on-site interviews. Please bring your resume, ID, and references.

“Raleigh continues to grow at an unprecedented pace, said Steve Halsey, Transportation Manager. “With over 1,100 miles of streets and sidewalks, and 2.5 million feet of drainage pipes to maintain, the Department of Transportation has an immediate need for new team members.  Join a team of over 200 experienced individuals that keep Raleigh’s streets, sidewalks, and storm drainage systems in great condition for the citizens and visitors of Raleigh!”

We are looking for:

  • Maintenance workers
  • Equipment operators
  • Resurfacing inspectors
  • Seasonal leaf collection staff (no experience required)
  • Temporary staff
These positions range from entry-level to experienced operators and supervisors. Equipment operator applicants must have a valid driver’s license and a commercial driver’s license or the ability to obtain a commercial driver’s license within 15 days of hire. Non-CDL positions are also available.

Transportation staff will be available to assist candidates with the applications. You can also complete an online application in advance at raleighnc.gov/employment.
