Rodney Clark Sr. is convinced that whoever killed his son had targeted him, likely after stalking him long enough to learn his habits and patterns.
Clark recently walked along Crabtree Creek Trail, the route Rodney Clark Jr. had taken before he was gunned down.
"He walked this trail each and every day,” Clark said in a WTVD report. “So, whoever the killer was, they knew his path. They watched and preyed upon it.”
He had a message for the killer, too.
“Don’t think you got away with it, because you won't get away with this. I won't stop until you're found,” he said.
The body of Clark’s son, 21, was found last week, and Clark thinks his son was killed after he left work that afternoon.
“Right now, I don't know who the killer is and I have a family,” Clark said. “So I have to protect my family. They assume just because he liked to wear blue that they affiliated him with a gang. Wasn't in a gang or anything."
Raleigh Police were still combing the scene a couple of days after the body was found. ,They are also asking the public for any information they are able to give about the killing.
Clark, meanwhile, is still dealing with the unexpected loss.
“I walked upstairs, was getting ready to knock on his door and ask him something,” he said.
For a second, he said, “I forgot."
