Starting February 1, 2024, Raleigh Solid Waste Customers will have the opportunity to order a second yard waste cart for their homes. This new option, approved by the Raleigh City Council in June 2023, aims to provide residents with increased capacity for their yard waste disposal needs.

The second yard waste cart will be bright green in color and will come with a capacity of 190 gallons. This additional cart will be collected every two weeks, allowing residents to conveniently dispose of their yard waste without any hassle.

To avail this service, residents will need to pay a one-time fee of $50 for the second cart, along with an additional $2.00 per month for the yard waste service fee. This fee structure ensures that residents have the necessary resources to manage their yard waste effectively.

The decision to introduce a second yard waste cart is in response to the growing demand from residents who require more space for their yard waste. By offering this option, the City of Raleigh aims to support sustainable waste management practices and promote a clean and healthy environment.

According to [Raleigh Solid Waste Manager], "We recognize that many residents have a significant amount of yard waste that exceeds the capacity of a single cart. By providing the option for a second yard waste cart, we are enabling residents to conveniently dispose of their yard waste without any inconvenience."

Residents who are interested in ordering a second yard waste cart are advised to stay tuned for further details on how to place their orders and when to expect delivery. The City of Raleigh will be releasing more information soon on their website, including a dedicated webpage with Frequently Asked Questions about the Yard Waste Cart program.

This new initiative is a significant step towards enhancing waste management services in Raleigh and ensuring that residents have the necessary tools to maintain clean and tidy surroundings. By offering a second yard waste cart, the City of Raleigh is demonstrating its commitment to meeting the evolving needs of its residents and promoting sustainable practices in waste management.

So, if you find yourself in need of more space for your yard waste, keep an eye out for the announcement from the City of Raleigh and take advantage of this new opportunity to order a second yard waste cart for your home.
