On Thursday, October 17, a Raleigh Water employee named Geoffrey Fish encountered a three-year-old boy walking barefoot and alone on the side of the road. Fish stopped to assist the child, offering him snacks and warmth before they began walking toward the child's home in search of his parents. Several neighbors helped guide them in the right direction, ultimately leading to a reunion with the boy's mother.

"Geoffrey set a wonderful example of serving the community by going above and beyond the call of duty," acknowledged those familiar with his actions.
