Eric Tulsky, General Manager of the Carolina Hurricanes, announced that forward Seth Jarvis has been placed on injured reserve due to an upper-body injury. The move is retroactive to November 10.

Jarvis, 22, has contributed significantly this season with 4 goals and 7 assists in 13 games. Last season, he ranked second among Hurricanes skaters in both goals (33) and points (67), setting personal records in several categories including power-play goals and game-winning goals. He was also a standout performer in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, leading the team in multiple offensive metrics.

Selected by Carolina in the first round of the 2020 NHL Draft, Jarvis recently signed an eight-year contract worth $63.2 million. Over his career with the Hurricanes, he has accumulated 157 points across 244 regular-season games.

The transaction places Jarvis on injured reserve but does not affect the team's salary cap or active roster limit. He could return as soon as November 17.

In other injury news from Coach Rod Brind'Amour: Frederik Andersen will be out for an extended period due to a lower-body injury, while Pyotr Kochetkov is doubtful for the upcoming game against Ottawa.
