The city has introduced a new parking permit portal designed to simplify the application process. Users can access the portal at Raleigh New Parking Portal, where first-time visitors are required to create a new account.

To apply for a permit, users must select a permit type from a dropdown menu, choose their permit zone, and cycle block, enter the necessary details, verify information, make payment, and submit the application.

Permanent residents or homeowners need to provide a current utility bill as proof of residency. Temporary residents should submit either a complete lease or notarized landlord affidavit. This ensures that parking permits align with lease terms. If leases are renewed, residents can extend their parking permits by submitting updated documents.

For those with valid permits hosting guests during enforcement hours, guest permits are available for purchase online or at the office. The city monitors these permits to prevent misuse.

In special circumstances where non-residents require permits—such as nurses or nannies—residents should contact customer service for guidance on documentation requirements.

The re-application process aims to ensure only current residents have access to residential parking zones and prevent oversaturation by non-eligible parkers. Assistance is available in person at 310 W. Martin St., Suite 109, Raleigh, NC 27601 or by calling (919) 996-3996.
