The Raleigh City Council has officially adopted the Raleigh Parks Plan Update on December 3, 2024. This plan is the result of an extensive year-and-a-half effort involving department staff and local community members. The plan will serve as a guiding document for Raleigh Parks over the next decade.

The framework of the Raleigh Parks Plan is based on four key health lenses that align with community values regarding the city's parks system. This Health-Focused Framework emphasizes that parks, greenways, and recreation facilities in Raleigh are crucial for maintaining public health, preserving the natural environment, and enhancing quality of life.

Community involvement was a significant aspect of this planning process, and appreciation was extended to all who participated.
