The N.C. Department of Transportation has announced a road closure in Pitt County scheduled for this weekend, contingent on weather conditions. The western section of Worthington Road at the intersection with Corey Road will be closed from 6 a.m. on February 8 until 6 p.m. on February 9.

This closure is necessary for the installation of drainage crosslines as part of ongoing roundabout construction efforts. During this period, traffic will be rerouted via Old Tar Road, Laurie Ellis Road, Jack Jones Road, and County Home Road.

The intersection itself between Corey Road and Worthington Road will remain accessible since the work impacts only the western leg of the junction.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution near the work zone and to consult DriveNC.gov for up-to-date traffic information.
