The North Carolina Ferry Division is actively seeking both seasonal and permanent employees to prepare for the upcoming summer season. A career fair will be held on February 12 in Manteo, offering job seekers an opportunity to explore and apply for various positions within the Ferry System.

The event, organized by the Ferry Division in collaboration with the College of the Albemarle, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the College of the Albemarle - Dare Campus, located at 205 U.S. 64 South in Manteo. Openings are available across all experience levels, including roles such as entry-level parking lot attendants (general utility workers), office staff, maintenance tradespeople, and credentialed vessel crew. Both temporary and full-time permanent positions are offered.

Permanent employment with the Ferry Division comes with several benefits: "Competitive salaries," "Training and credential/certification increases," "Health insurance," "Retirement benefits," and "Paid vacation, holiday and sick leave."

Prospective attendees should bring resumes, references, and supporting documents to the fair. Representatives from the Ferry Division will be present to accept applications and provide information about available positions and advancement opportunities.

This career fair in Manteo marks the third of five such events planned across eastern North Carolina. Previous fairs took place in Ocracoke on January 31 and Morehead City on February 5. Future events are set for February 21 at the Southport Ferry Terminal and February 26 at Beaufort County Community College in Washington.
