Red Hat, Inc., a leading provider of open source solutions, has announced the availability of Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform Service on AWS. This managed offering in the AWS Marketplace aims to streamline hybrid cloud infrastructure management for customers by operationalizing complex activities and providing flexibility in deploying Red Hat’s technologies both on-premises and on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Mat Jovanovic, corporate cloud strategy director at Mapfre, stated, "With Ansible Automation Platform Service on AWS, we can quickly deliver robust automation solutions to our mutual customers and further accelerate the adoption, development and deployment of mission-critical automation across all enterprise segments."
The service offers IT teams an accessible way to begin automating from day one without needing new tools or integrating additional technologies. It also integrates with AWS billing for cost visibility and contributes to committed spend agreements with AWS.
Red Hat provides both managed and self-managed options for Ansible Automation Platform on AWS. The self-managed option allows for greater customization and security management by regulated industries or their partners. The managed solution offers premium support from Red Hat, enabling organizations to focus on innovation rather than platform management.
Sathish Balakrishnan, vice president and general manager of Ansible at Red Hat, emphasized the importance of automation: “Businesses can only achieve their goals if automation is viewed as essential to the enterprise IT strategy."
David Tapper from IDC noted that value in managed services extends beyond cloud capabilities: “It is also about supporting the shift in provisioning services...to a 'system-centric approach' that requires holistic management."
Scott Kinane from Kyndryl added that automation is strategic for meeting current workload demands: "Our customers are adopting automation as a strategic imperative... With Ansible Automation Platform Service on AWS, we can quickly deliver robust automation solutions."
Mat Jovanovic highlighted the synergy between using Ansible Automation Platform with native AWS services like lambda and step functions.
Red Hat's offering in AWS Marketplace aligns with its goal of extending IT automation solutions across major cloud providers while enabling customers to concentrate on mission-critical initiatives.
