Toyota announced on April 7 that the 2027 Land Cruiser will feature several new enhancements and is expected to arrive at dealerships in spring 2026 with a starting price of $57,880. The updated model includes a high mounted air intake, heated and ventilated second-row outboard seats, and introduces a new exterior color called Inked.

The announcement highlights Toyota’s continued focus on blending rugged off-road capability with premium comfort. The Land Cruiser is equipped exclusively with the i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain that delivers a combined output of 326 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. of torque. This system pairs a turbocharged engine with an electric motor positioned between the engine and eight-speed automatic transmission, resulting in an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 23 miles per gallon combined.

Off-road features remain central to the vehicle’s identity, including standard center and rear locking differentials across both trims. Additional technology such as Multi-Terrain Select modes for various surfaces, CRAWL Control for low-speed off-road driving, Downhill Assist Control, Vehicle Stability Control, and an automatic limited-slip differential are included. For more technical trails, drivers can use the available Multi-Terrain Monitor system to view obstacles around the vehicle through multiple cameras displayed on the touchscreen.

The frame design utilizes Toyota’s TNGA-F global truck platform—shared with models like Tundra and Tacoma—and incorporates advanced manufacturing techniques for reduced weight while increasing rigidity. This contributes to a maximum towing capacity of up to 6,000 pounds.

Inside, customers will find standard or available features such as power front seats with heating and ventilation options; multimedia touchscreens ranging from eight inches up to twelve-point-three inches; wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; multiple USB-C ports; Qi wireless charging; JBL premium audio systems; digital gauge clusters; smart key access; blind spot monitoring; trailer brake controller; panoramic view monitors; leather-trimmed seating (with Premium Package); head-up display options; illuminated entryways;
and more.

Safety remains a priority as both grades come standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0—a suite that includes pre-collision detection (now able to identify motorcyclists), lane departure alert,
dynamic radar cruise control,
lane tracing assist,
emergency driving stop system,
and road sign assist.
Additional safety technologies include Blind Spot Monitor,
Rear Cross-Traffic Alert,
and Hill Start Assist Control.
Warranty coverage extends from three years/36,000 miles basic coverage up to ten years/150,000 miles on hybrid batteries.
