The 2026 Toyota GR Corolla is set to arrive at dealerships this fall, featuring several updates aimed at enhancing performance and driver experience. The vehicle is offered in two versions: the standard GR Corolla and the upgraded GR Corolla Premium Plus.

Among the new features are structural enhancements that use an additional 45.6 feet of adhesive in key areas of the body, which Toyota says improves rigidity and rear grip. A secondary air intake duct has been added to help manage engine temperature and maintain performance during demanding driving conditions.

Both grades are powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter three-cylinder engine delivering 300 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. Customers can choose between an eight-speed automatic transmission designed for sporty driving or a six-speed manual with rev-matching technology for smoother gear changes.

A key highlight is the rally-inspired GR-FOUR all-wheel-drive system, developed with input from the Toyota GAZOO Racing World Rally Team. Drivers can select between Normal, Gravel, or Track modes to adjust torque distribution based on road conditions. Front and rear Torsen limited-slip differentials come standard, supporting improved cornering performance.

Toyota has enhanced the audio experience in the Premium Plus model with a nine-speaker JBL sound system that includes a subwoofer and Active Sound Control. This system generates sounds corresponding to acceleration and shifting to provide more feedback to drivers.

Technology features include a customizable 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, an eight-inch touchscreen multimedia system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as available cloud-based navigation through Drive Connect subscriptions. The car also supports dual Bluetooth phone connections and Wi-Fi connectivity for up to five devices.

Safety remains central in the new model, which comes equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0—a suite that includes pre-collision warning with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, road sign recognition, and automatic high beams. Automatic transmission models add full-speed range adaptive cruise control and proactive driving assist functions.

Pricing for the 2026 GR Corolla starts at $39,920 for manual transmission models before destination fees or dealer processing charges. Buyers receive a complimentary one-year membership to the National Auto Sport Association (NASA), including access to a high-performance driving event within their first year of ownership.

Toyota’s basic warranty covers vehicles for three years or 36,000 miles; powertrain coverage extends to five years or 60,000 miles. Additionally, all models include two years or 25,000 miles of scheduled maintenance through ToyotaCare.

Toyota continues its commitment to U.S.-based manufacturing and workforce development initiatives through its network of plants and community partnerships across the country.
