Pullen Arts Center will host a new group exhibition titled Wandering Between Worlds from August 2 to October 26, 2025. The show features seven artists based in North Carolina: Alison Coleman, Ari Ferro, Jenn Hales, K. Orr Ambrose, Nancy Goodrich, Marcia Moran, and Min Zhong.
The exhibition explores landscape as both a real place and an imaginative idea. Artists use painting, photography, and mixed media to examine how personal history and emotion affect the way people view their surroundings. Visitors can expect works that look at nostalgia, environmental change, inner thought, and spiritual connections with nature.
Some of the featured works include narrative paintings by Allison Coleman that blend photorealistic figures with landscapes inspired by vintage Americana; oil landscapes by Marcia Moran focusing on light and atmosphere; and plein-air scenes of local parks by Min Zhong. K. Orr Ambrose’s paintings draw on her Southern background while Nancy Goodrich uses historic photographic processes. Ari Ferro and Jenn Hales present pieces about emotional landscapes shaped by life changes such as relocation or motherhood.
A closing reception is planned for Saturday, October 25 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., where visitors can meet the artists in the gallery.
Admission is free to the public. The gallery operates Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and weekends from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Pullen Arts Center is managed by Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources at 105 Pullen Road in Raleigh. More information about the exhibition can be found at the Wandering Between Worlds Exhibition website.
