Raleigh Arts has opened applications for its year-long universal access learning community aimed at making local arts programs more inclusive. Nonprofit organizations interested in engaging people with disabilities are encouraged to apply before April 30. The initiative includes monthly sessions focused on improving accessibility across area arts groups.
The Raleigh Police Department held an Autism Awareness event on April 10. Officers connected with families over pancakes as part of a new partnership supporting individuals with autism.
The City of Raleigh has opened applications for its Building Up-fit Grant aimed at helping small businesses renovate commercial spaces. The program offers matching funds up to $25,000 for eligible interior improvements. Applications are open until April 29 with awards announced May 15.
