Town of Morrisville issued the following announcement on Aug. 22.
For four days starting Monday, August 30, and going through Thursday, September 2, Morrisville Carpenter Road will be closed for both eastbound and westbound traffic between Town Hall Drive and the entrance to Morrisville Square Shopping Center (just east of Misty Groves Circle). The road will be re-opened earlier if the work is completed ahead of schedule.
• This road closure is required for the project’s contractor to excavate and install piling and shoring on the south side of the existing culvert on Morrisville Carpenter Road as part of the on-going roadway construction activities.
• Westbound traffic on Aviation Parkway will be detoured and directed north on Chapel Hill Road (N.C. - 54), west on McCrimmon Parkway, and south on Davis Drive back to Morrisville Carpenter Road.
• Eastbound traffic on Morrisville Carpenter Road will be directed north on Davis Drive, east on McCrimmon Parkway, and south on Chapel Hill Road (N.C. - 54).
• Access to all residents and businesses that are off of Morrisville Carpenter Road (between Davis Drive and the closure on the west side; and between the closure and N.C. – 54 on the east side) will remain open and accessible.
