TOWN OF WAKE FOREST: Follow-up Northeast Community Plan Open House set for September 28

Openhousee

Town of Wake Forest issued the following announcement on Sep 17.

The Town of Wake Forest will host a “Follow-up” Northeast Community Plan (NECP) Open House Tuesday, Sept. 28, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the Wake Forest Town Hall Ground Floor Meeting Room, 301 S. Brooks St. The room is most easily accessed via the building’s Taylor Street entrance.

During the NECP Open House on September 9, several attendees requested another opportunity to review and discuss the Future Land Use Map recommendations and the proposed DuBois Campus concept. As a result, the September 28 session will focus on addressing those questions and concerns.

The session will have an informal, open house-style format, so there will not be a formal presentation. Attendees may arrive any time between 4:30-6:30 p.m. to view displays about the plan, ask questions and share comments.

Anyone who was unable to attend the September 9 session or would simply like to review the presented information again is invited to participate in a “Virtual Open House” by visiting the Town website at www.wakeforestnc.gov/northeast-community-plan. The online open house gives visitors the chance to view displays about the plan, ask questions, and share comments via a short five-question survey.

Community input is the cornerstone of the Northeast Community Plan, which will recommend policies and actions responding to current and future community needs. The goal is to help preserve the history, diversity, and affordability of the area while addressing issues of growth, economic health, public infrastructure, and preservation. The plan is scheduled for completion in early 2022.

For more information, visit www.wakeforestnc.gov/northeast-community-plan or contact Senior Planner for Historic Preservation Michelle Michael at 919-435-9516 or mmichael@wakeforestnc.gov.
