The City of Raleigh’s Public Transit System, GoRaleigh, has recently been recognized for its outstanding achievements by winning two prestigious statewide awards. According to the North Carolina Public Transportation Association (NCPTA), GoRaleigh was honored with the title of North Carolina’s Transit System of the Year Award and the Driver of the Year Award.
The Transit System of the Year Award is a significant accolade that acknowledges a transit system's commitment to promoting mobility, eliminating barriers to isolation, and fostering economic growth through the provision of safe, efficient, and reliable services. The award highlights GoRaleigh's dedication to enhancing public transportation for the community it serves.
In addition to the system award, Bruce Holloway was named the recipient of the Driver of the Year Award, recognizing his exceptional contributions to public transportation in North Carolina. Holloway's remarkable accomplishments, including 33 years of service, a million-mile Safe Driving Award, and multiple years of perfect attendance and zero customer complaints, showcase his unwavering commitment to excellence in his role as a transit operator.
The winners were chosen by an independent committee chaired by the NCPTA Executive Director and composed of media and trade association professionals, ensuring a rigorous selection process. The recognition of GoRaleigh and Bruce Holloway underscores the dedication and high standards upheld by the public transit system and its employees in serving the Raleigh community.
