Lake Wheeler Park in Raleigh, North Carolina, is set to be the venue for the 2024 ACC Women’s Rowing Championships on May 17 and 18. The event is co-sponsored by UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke University, as well as the ACC, Greater Raleigh Sports Alliance, and the City of Raleigh.
According to the announcement, "Nine ACC collegiate teams are scheduled to compete" during the championship. The competition will bring together top rowing talent from various universities, showcasing their skills on the water at Lake Wheeler Park.
In a move to welcome spectators, the organizers have stated that "This event will be free to all spectators on May 17 and 18." This provides an opportunity for the community to come out and support the student-athletes participating in the championships.
To accommodate the event, Lake Wheeler Park will be closing all water access to the public from Wednesday, May 15, until the conclusion of the championships on Saturday, May 18. However, regular lake access will resume for public use starting on Sunday, May 19.
