The Raleigh Department of Transportation has announced an upcoming event aimed at engaging the community in the development of a new Downtown Mobility Study. Scheduled for May 29, between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., the open house will take place at Raleigh Union Station located at 510 W Martin Street.

According to the Raleigh Department of Transportation, the Downtown Mobility Study is a City-led initiative designed to streamline multimodal planning and policy recommendations for the downtown area. The study is intended to be community-driven and will consider the various needs of stakeholders, advocates, and business owners in the downtown area. It is also set to serve as an update to the 2019 Downtown Transportation Plan.

In the words of the Raleigh Department of Transportation, "The result will be a transportation strategy that supports the community vision of Downtown Raleigh as a safe, vibrant, and active place."

During the open house event, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with City staff and community partners who will describe the planning process, gather input on community priorities, and identify opportunities and challenges. The event will feature interactive stations, and light refreshments will be provided. The open house is free to attend and is family-friendly.

The Downtown Mobility Study Open House is set to offer a platform for the community to engage with the transportation planning process, ensuring that the resulting strategies align with the vision of a dynamic and accessible Downtown Raleigh.
