The Counselor In Training (CIT) camp, a program specifically designed to equip selected teenagers with the necessary skills and experiences to become Junior Counselors in various youth-serving organizations, is set to take place from June 17-21. The program emphasizes teambuilding, role-playing, and hands-on application, promising a week of fun and personal growth for participants. A high level of maturity is expected from all participants.

Upon successful completion of the training week, participants will be given an opportunity to volunteer for one week (40 hours) at one of the City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department's summer camps. It should be noted that there is an application and interview process for prospective CITs.

For further inquiries regarding the CIT program, interested parties are encouraged to contact Chiffonda Holloway at chiffonda.holloway@raleighnc.gov. The program runs daily from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., catering for ages 14-16. The cost for residents is $200 while non-residents will be charged $215.
