The City of Raleigh has announced two upcoming career fairs aimed at providing opportunities for professional growth and networking.

The first event, the Local Government Career Expo (LOGO), is scheduled for June 8, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the NC State McKimmon Center, located at 1101 Gorman St., Raleigh, NC 27606. This inaugural event will feature more than 40 municipalities and highlight various career development opportunities within local government. Employers will present careers in fields such as construction, business administration, environmental sciences, public health, public safety, and technology.

LOGO aims to promote holistic career development through networking opportunities, skill-building sessions, and long-term career planning with a focus on transferable skills. Attendees' contact information will be shared directly with potential recruiters. Pre-event workshops will cover topics like resume building, dressing for success, and elevator pitch tips. Additionally, there will be day-of information sessions led by industry professionals.

"If you are passionate about community improvement, want to advance your career or are interested in learning more about the local government profession," the City of Raleigh encourages participation in this event. Registration details can be found at logocareerexpo.com.

The second event is the City of Raleigh Operations Job Fair on June 14, 2024, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Chavis Community Center located at 505 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Raleigh, NC 27601. This fair will provide attendees with insights into various operational roles essential for delivering services to Raleigh residents.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the work performed by Engineering Services, Raleigh Water, Solid Waste Services, and Transportation departments. They can engage directly with hiring managers to gain insights into daily responsibilities and understand how they can contribute to the city's success.

An application station will be available on-site for job seekers to apply immediately and participate in on-the-spot interviews. Pre-registration is not required for this event.

"Don't miss your chance to learn about the many great opportunities the City of Raleigh offers," said city officials inviting all community members to attend these events.
