The City’s IT department has been awarded the 2024 Civic Interaction & Public Trust Award by Tyler Technologies, Inc. This accolade was announced as part of Tyler's 2024 Public Sector Excellence Award winners.

The City was among 29 public sector client winners recognized for their leadership, innovation, and excellence in utilizing Tyler solutions within their jurisdictions. These jurisdictions were acknowledged for their commitment to public service and efforts to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in community service. Applications were evaluated by Tyler in categories such as Civic Interaction & Public Trust, Connected Community, Data & Transparency, Operational Efficiency, and Performance & Innovation.

The City's IT department extended its permitting and licensing workflows through Enterprise Permitting & Licensing (formerly known as EnerGov). The City utilized this platform to address unique software use cases including:

- Creating a professional license module to track registrations, collect documentation, and manage registration fees supporting the city's Dangerous Wild Animal Ordinance.

- Managing water district needs for multiple towns while maintaining centralized oversight and local municipalities' autonomy.

- Enhancing public trust and transparency.

- Fostering civic engagement via the user-friendly Civic Access online portal.

"This year marks our 15th year of the Tyler Excellence Award program, and the submissions get stronger and more competitive every year," said Lynn Moore, president and chief executive officer of Tyler. "We have seen tangible examples of how our clients empower the public sector through technology solutions, helping to make their communities safer and stronger. We’re excited to congratulate all winners on their achievements."
