The Active Adult Program has announced two upcoming trips designed for older adults.
The first trip, titled "Read and Go Trip – The Stolen Lady," centers around the best-selling novel by Laura Morelli. This historical novel spans from Renaissance Italy to World War II and is based on a true story involving the Mona Lisa. Participants will explore how the Louvre staff hid priceless artworks, including the Mona Lisa, from advancing Nazis in 1939 Paris. The trip includes a talk with Beck Silber about art preservation during this period, lunch at High Park Bar & Grill, and a guided tour of the NC Art Museum.

The second trip offers an exploration of the Duke Lemur Center with a guided tour. Established in 1966 at Duke University in Durham, NC, the center is renowned for its research, conservation efforts, and care for lemurs. It houses over 200 animals across 14 species. The trip also includes lunch at the Tobacco District.
