GoRaleigh will resume fare collection on September 1, 2024. July 2024 has been designated as a “find your fare” month, allowing riders to explore the best ticketing options in preparation for the resumption of fare collection.

In August, passengers will be required to board using the UMO Mobile app, UMO Card, or cash. To facilitate this transition, riders will receive a UMO promo code or a complimentary day pass on the bus.

Fares will officially be collected starting September 1, 2024. Payment options include new digital ticketing and a convenient pass for income-qualified riders to ride fare-free. Youth (ages 13-18) and seniors (ages 65 and older) can continue to ride free after enrolling in one of the GoPass programs that utilize the UMO digital ticketing platform.

The R-Line will also implement a ride fare of $1.25 per person. GoRaleigh Access fares will resume as well. Reduced fare programs and various pass options—daily, weekly, and monthly—will be available.

GoRaleigh riders can manage their payments and passes through a new app that also monitors bus locations and provides timetables. The Umo app is available for download from the Apple or Google Play store.
