Raleigh Solid Waste Services (SWS) announced a collection delay on July 5 due to extreme heat. The decision aims to prevent staff injuries and illnesses associated with a high heat index, which combines relative humidity with air temperature to reflect how hot it feels.

Solid Waste staff will collect on Saturday, July 6, following the July 4 holiday. Residents may experience delays and are advised to leave their carts at the curb until serviced.

Customers can check for updates and download the free Raleigh Reuse App for information on service changes and updates.
