A flash flood warning has been issued for July 12, 2024. The city's storm tracking team is actively monitoring rainfall and stream levels, focusing on locations along Walnut Creek and Crabtree Creek. This surveillance helps identify flooding conditions during storms, enabling first responders to close roads and implement other safety measures.

A key tool available to residents is the Live Flood Gauge Map. It provides information on stream gauges, camera locations, flood warning signs, floodplains, and weather radar. Residents can also input their addresses to receive localized weather updates.

The adverse weather has impacted several city services:

- **Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources**: Field activities are under a Code Red status, meaning all outdoor field activities are postponed. Updates can be obtained by calling the weather line at 919-996-6575. Coaches and team managers will receive further notifications through league administrators.

- **Solid Waste Services**: Curbside Friday garbage collections have been delayed due to the weather. Crews will work through the weekend to catch up on collections. Residents are advised to keep their carts at the curb until they are serviced. No warnings or fines will be issued during this correction period.
