Wake County is initiating an update to its Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan, emphasizing the importance of community input to enhance safety and preparedness for emergencies.

The objective of the plan is to identify, assess, and mitigate hazard risks to better protect residents and property within Wake County from natural and human-caused hazards.

Community members can participate in several ways:

- Provide comments on the draft plan using a designated form.

- Attend a virtual public meeting scheduled for August 21 at 6 p.m. (registration required).

For additional information, including access to a draft of the updated plan, visit Wake County's official website.
