Raleigh Arts has announced the 2024 Raleigh Medal of Arts awardees, selected by the City of Raleigh Arts Commission. The Raleigh Medal of Arts is the city’s highest arts honor. The 2024 Medal of Arts Awards Ceremony will take place at Raleigh Little Theatre and feature performances by local talent.
The 2024 awardees are:
- Paris Alexander
- Elizabeth Beilman and Jimmy Gilmore
- Ragen Carlile
- Creative Mornings Raleigh
- Roy C. Dicks
- Fruit of Labor World Cultural Center
- Yvette Holder
- Timothy Locklear
- Rob Maddrey and Mark Tulbert
- Ilse Mann
- Raleigh Drum Circle
The ceremony will be hosted by Rissi Palmer on Tuesday, October 8, at Raleigh Little Theatre. A pre-show reception with live entertainment begins at 6 p.m., followed by the awards program at 7 p.m.
Tickets will be available on the Raleigh Little Theatre website starting September 4 at 10:00 a.m. Tickets are free, general admission, and first come, first served, with a two-ticket limit per order.
The Raleigh Medal of Arts recognizes extraordinary achievement in the practice or support of local arts. Modeled after the National Medal of Arts program, it was inaugurated in 1984 by the Raleigh Arts Commission to honor excellence in the arts. Over the past 34 years, 170 medals have been awarded.
