Goaltender Dustin Tokarski will play against his former team when the Carolina Hurricanes face the Buffalo Sabres. Tokarski, 35, previously played 42 of his 85 NHL games with the Sabres between 2020 and 2022. In his last game at Lenovo Center, he stopped all 14 shots from the Vancouver Canucks.

"He's added some stability when he's gone in and he's given us a chance to win when he's played," said Rod Brind'Amour after morning practice. "That's what you're asking for from any goalie, especially a backup goalie. He's got to give you a chance. That's what he's done."

The Hurricanes' lineup remains unchanged with Andrei Svechnikov aiming to extend his point streak to six games and Sebastian Aho looking to increase his points against the Sabres.

Tonight's betting odds provided by Fanatics Sportsbook favor the Canes at -190.

Projected lineup includes forwards Roslovic, Aho, Jarvis; Robinson, Kotkaniemi, Necas; Svechnikov, Staal, Martinook; Jaaska, Drury, Blake. Defense pairs are Slavin-Burns; Orlov-Chatfield; Gostisbehere-Walker. Goaltenders are Tokarski with Kochetkov as backup.

Injuries include William Carrier (lower-body), Tyson Jost (lower-body), Frederik Andersen (knee), and Jesper Fast (neck). Ty Smith is listed as a scratch.

Power play units are PP1: Aho, Jarvis, Necas, Svechnikov with Gostisbehere; PP2: Blake, Drury, Kotkaniemi, Roslovic with Burns.

The game is scheduled for tonight in Buffalo at 6:00 p.m.
