The City of Raleigh’s Transportation Department is inviting residents to participate in public meetings to discuss ways to enhance street safety. These gatherings are part of the Safe Streets for All (SS4A) initiative, which aims to eliminate serious injuries and fatalities from traffic incidents by 2045.

Sean Driskill, Vision Zero Manager, stated, "We’re using data and community input to guide targeted safety improvements across the city, focusing on high-priority areas to reduce serious injuries and fatalities." He also noted that implementation would rely on funding, project prioritization, and coordination with local and state agencies.

Residents are encouraged to attend these meetings as their feedback will directly influence safety measures throughout Raleigh. The discussions may lead to changes such as improved infrastructure and updated policies. The remaining schedule includes sessions at Carolina Pines Community Center on February 17, Laurel Hills Community Center on February 25, and Abbotts Creek Community Center on March 5.

These events provide a platform for residents not only to voice concerns about transportation but also to connect with various teams including those from Raleigh Parking, Mobility Strategy & Infrastructure, Traffic Engineering, Vision Zero, GoRaleigh/Transit, Parks/Greenways, and the Raleigh Police Department.

For those unable to attend in person, there is an opportunity to contribute through the Safe Streets for All survey. Over 1,000 residents have already participated in sharing their thoughts through this channel.
