Governor Josh Stein has announced new appointments to various Boards and Commissions.

Kindl S. Detar from Mecklenburg has been appointed as the Governor’s Office Designee to the MyFutureNC Board of Directors. Detar is currently a Senior Policy Advisor in the Office of Governor Josh Stein. Her previous role was Special Deputy Attorney General & Director of the Public Protection Section for the North Carolina Department of Justice.

The Honorable James Beaty, Jr., a retired United States District Court Judge for the Middle District of North Carolina, has been appointed as a Public Member to the North Carolina Real Estate Commission. Beaty Jr., who resides in Forsyth, continues to engage with his community by serving on the Board of Deacons at United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem and is an active member of the North Carolina Chapter of the National Association of Guardsmen.

Professor Srinath Ekkad from Wake has been appointed to represent the Engineering School of the UNC System on the State Board of Refrigeration Contractors. Ekkad serves as Department Head of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering and Special Advisor to the Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation at North Carolina State University. He brings over 25 years of experience in research, teaching, and administration.
