Raleigh's new City Hall will feature a dynamic public art installation, inviting the community to contribute to its development. The interactive light display will utilize real-time and archival data to influence the movement of lighting within the artwork. Residents are encouraged to participate in a survey to decide which data will shape the storytelling aspect of the piece.

The project is financed through the Percent for Public Art program, allocating up to 1% of estimated construction costs toward public art. Susan Narduli was selected from over 150 applicants by a community Artist Selection Panel and approved by the Public Art & Design Board. Her expertise in combining art, technology, and architecture led to her selection.

Community feedback will guide the creation of an artwork that is bold, welcoming, and interactive. "Now, we need to hear from you! Take the survey to help bring this innovative public art to life," urges those involved in the project.

The construction of City Hall is expected to be completed in 2026. Updates about the project can be found on Raleigh's New City Hall project page.
