Raleigh Police Officers Daniel Mills and Branden Vanderhoof were recently acknowledged in the FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin for their involvement in a water rescue. The incident occurred last August when both officers responded to an emergency call about a swimmer in distress. They arrived at the scene simultaneously with the water rescue team.

Upon assessing the situation, Officers Mills and Vanderhoof realized immediate action was necessary to assist a swimmer. They acted promptly, saving two juveniles' lives that day. Notably, it was Officer Vanderhoof's first day on duty.

In recognition of their actions, Captain Daniel Nieters presented both officers with posters featuring the article from the FBI Bulletin. Additionally, they received official acknowledgment from Joshua J. Murphy, Acting Assistant Director of the FBI Training Division.

"Congratulations to these amazing officers for making significant impacts in our community," stated the bulletin.
