Nominations are open for Raleigh's 2025 Tree of the Year. Residents can submit their entries from April 2 through April 16, with the nomination link becoming active on Wednesday, April 2. The tree that garners the most votes by April 19 at 5 p.m. will be honored with a certificate. A yard sign will also be provided to the property owner or placed near the tree if it is situated on city property. It is important to note that previous winners are not eligible for this year's competition.

Voting for the nominated trees will take place from April 17 and conclude on April 23 at 5 p.m. The announcement of the winning tree will occur during the City of Raleigh’s Earth Day/Arbor Day event at Dorthea Dix Park on April 25.
