Amazon announces EHS/WHSS role in Raleigh

Amazon has announced an open position for a full-time Workplace Health and Safety Specialist (WHSS) in Raleigh, North Carolina. The role involves overseeing and implementing safety programs within an assigned building. The announcement was made in Amazon Jobs on March 17, 2025.

According to Amazon Jobs, the WHSS role requires maintaining safety metrics, ensuring compliance with corporate and legal safety standards, conducting risk assessments, and recommending risk mitigation measures, including ergonomics. Candidates must be flexible with work shifts and obtain First Aid, CPR, and AED certification within three weeks of hire if not already certified. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with experience in an environmental health and safety field or a relevant degree. Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel are also necessary. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a safety-related field, leadership experience, emergency response training, and workers' compensation case management.
