The Carolina Hurricanes are set to play against the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday, with some changes in their lineup. Head coach Rod Brind'Amour announced that two key forwards, Jordan Staal and Andrei Svechnikov, will return to the lineup after recovering from injuries. Staal had been out for four games due to a lower-body injury, while Svechnikov missed the last two games. Brind'Amour mentioned that although both players could have played earlier if needed, the team chose to adopt a cautious approach.

Meanwhile, Jesperi Kotkaniemi will be sidelined for "at least a week" following an undisclosed injury sustained on Saturday night in a game against Boston.

In goal, Pyotr Kochetkov is aiming to regain his form after recording three losses in his last four appearances, following a streak of five consecutive wins earlier in the season.

With the game scheduled in Buffalo, the Hurricanes have released their projected lineup. Key combinations include Jarvis, Aho, and Blake spearheading the forward line, and the defensive pairing of Slavin and Burns. Kochetkov is expected to start as goaltender, with Andersen as the backup.

For sports betting enthusiasts, Fanatics Sportsbook has set the odds at Canes -225 for this matchup.

The lineup faced some absences due to injuries, including William Carrier with a lower-body injury, Jesper Fast out for the 2024-25 season due to a neck injury, and Jesperi Kotkaniemi with no clear timetable for return.

The Hurricanes and their fans are looking forward to the matchup at KeyBank Center, with the game set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
