North Carolina Senator Thom Tillis and his Republican colleagues have introduced a new bill aimed at reversing the Biden administration's decision to send $6 billion in funds to Iran. The bill, called the "Revoke Iranian Funding Act," seeks to unfreeze the funds and use them to defend against terrorist attacks, particularly those targeting Israel.

In a statement, Senator Tillis criticized the Biden administration's decision, calling it "reckless" and stating that Iran is the "biggest sponsor of world terrorism." He believes that the funds should be redirected towards protecting nations in need, rather than supporting a rogue state.

Senator Tillis is not alone in his efforts. U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. has also introduced legislation to revoke the funding granted by the Biden administration. Senator Marshall emphasized the role of Iran in supporting terrorist groups like Hamas, stating that "Hamas is just the puppet, doing the first work of the puppet master - Iran."

The bill introduced by Senator Tillis and his colleagues aims to take back the general licensing that enabled the release of the $6 billion to Iran. It also includes provisions for studying a high-value Iranian asset currently blocked by U.S. sanctions and reporting the findings back to Congress.

The North State Journal reported on the introduction of the bill, quoting Senator Tillis as saying, "The Biden administration’s reckless decision to send $6 billion to the rogue state of Iran must be reversed." The bill has gained support from other Republican members who are concerned about the use of these funds.

As the debate over the funding of Iran continues, Senator Tillis and his colleagues are pushing for their bill to be passed in order to redirect the funds towards defending against terrorism and protecting nations in need.
