Raleigh, NC - As National Bike Month approaches, the city of Raleigh is gearing up to celebrate the many benefits of bicycling. In a recent announcement, the city called on residents to share their biking stories and experiences to inspire others to take up cycling.
"Tell us why you bike!" urged the city in a statement released ahead of the upcoming Bike Month. The initiative aims to showcase the diverse reasons why people choose to bike, whether it be for work, health, or as a family activity.
"We know that our city loves bicycling and we'd like to showcase our Raleigh bicyclists by featuring you on our social media," the city expressed, highlighting the vibrant biking community in Raleigh.
Residents are encouraged to submit a short quote along with a photo of themselves biking, whether it's on their favorite trail, at the park with family and friends, or commuting to work. Selected photos and quotes will be featured on @RaleighTranspo on Twitter throughout the month of May.
To participate, individuals can email their photos to TransportationInfo@raleighnc.gov, including their "Why I Bike" quote and first name. Additional details about their biking experiences are also welcome.
With the call to action set forth by the city, Raleigh residents are invited to join in the celebration of Bike Month this May. As the city eagerly anticipates the submissions from its biking community, the message is clear: "Let's celebrate Bike Month this May!"
