Raleigh Parks, in collaboration with the Raleigh Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., is gearing up to host a health and wellness day at John Chavis Memorial Park. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is open to all ages free of charge.
According to the organizers, the event aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and well-being within the community. In a statement, they expressed, "We believe that health is wealth here at John Chavis Memorial Park and to demonstrate that Raleigh Parks is partnering with the Raleigh Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. to hold a health and wellness day."
Attendees can look forward to a variety of activities and offerings, including mental health exhibits, physical fitness classes, wellness information, and food trucks providing free $15 food vouchers while supplies last. Additionally, there will be children's activities such as inflatables, relay races, and friendly competitions with prizes like Raleigh Parks gift cards. Those participating will also have the chance to win a free week of Summer X-Press Camp for ages 6-11 at Chavis.
