Community members are invited to participate in a unique and engaging mental health awareness event at Marsh Creek Community Center. Raleigh Parks, in partnership with the Jordan Porco Foundation, is hosting a Community Mental Health Check-In Program on Saturday, May 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event aims to create an approachable atmosphere for dialogue about mental well-being. According to the organizers, the program is designed to be uplifting and promote mental health awareness. Interactive booths, music, community resources, fitness demos, and fun prizes will be featured at the event.

One of the main goals of the program is to increase awareness of mental health resources and services available to the community. Additionally, the organizers aim to reduce stigma and misconceptions surrounding mental health and suicide, which can often prevent individuals from seeking help. The event also seeks to encourage individuals to ask for help if they are experiencing emotional distress.

The Community Mental Health Check-In Program will take place at the Marsh Creek Community Center located at 3050 N New Hope Rd, Raleigh, NC 27604. While no registration is required to attend the event, pre-registration is necessary for the fitness demonstrations due to limited spaces.

For those interested in participating in the fitness demos, registration is required for the following sessions:

- Pop Pilates® at 10:15 a.m.

- Barre-Fusion at 11 a.m.

- Pound Unplugged at 11 a.m.

- Barre at noon

For more details about the event and registration for the fitness demos, individuals can contact Raleigh Parks Health and Wellness at 919-996-2767 or email prcrhealthandwellness@raleighnc.gov.
