The City of Raleigh has announced new updates to its Permit and Development Portal, aimed at enhancing user experience and communication efficiency. The upgrades, set to launch on Friday, April 19, will introduce several new features to the portal.
Users of the portal will now receive email notifications at key milestones of their projects. The city has also revised its user guide to reflect these changes, with detailed information available on page 15 of the guide. Additionally, an online application guide has been provided for users to review the updates.
"Our goal is to improve our communication frequency with portal users and allow for a more streamlined back-end process," stated a representative from the City of Raleigh.
One of the notable modifications in the upgrade is a new notification system for specific permit types, including Residential Single-Family Dwellings, Townhouses, Additions, Alterations, Pools/Spas, Decks/Porches, Manufactured Homes, and Accessory Structures. It is important to note that these changes will only apply to new submissions for the mentioned permit types and will not impact existing projects.
The city encourages users to refer to the online application guide for a comprehensive overview of the new features and interface enhancements. Permit applicants can expect to be notified via email once their project is processed, with standard review times available for viewing online. Plan review comments can also be accessed at any time through a registered account on the Permit and Development Portal.
For inquiries and further information, individuals are advised to visit the city's webpage or reach out via email to ds.help@raleighnc.gov.
