Residents of Raleigh, North Carolina are invited to spend a day exploring the Juniper Level Botanic Garden, an expansive 28-acre garden filled with over 27,000 taxa of plants. Established in 1986 by Tony Avent and his wife Michelle, the garden aims to collect, study, preserve, propagate, and share plants for a better world.

Visitors to the garden can participate in guided tours to learn about its history, future, and extensive research initiatives. It is noted that the garden features dirt paths for exploration. Additionally, guests can take leisurely strolls around the farmers market and enjoy lunch at one of the two on-site restaurants.

The trip to Juniper Level Botanic Garden is scheduled for Tuesday, May 14, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Open to older adults, the cost of the trip is $25 for residents and $40 for non-residents. Those interested can register on RecLink and direct any trip-related inquiries to Carmen Rayfield at 919-996-4734 or the Active Adult Centers in the area.

This excursion offers a unique opportunity for individuals to immerse themselves in a diverse botanical environment and appreciate the beauty of nature in the heart of Raleigh.
