The City of Raleigh’s Information Technology Department has been honored with the Climate Action: Land Use and Equity Award as part of the 2024 Raleigh Environmental Awards program. The award was presented at the Environmental Awards Ceremony held during Raleigh’s Earth Day Celebration at Dorothea Dix Park on April 19.

City of Raleigh CIO Mark Wittenburg expressed his gratitude, saying, "Honored to be recognized for our innovation team and partner's work on how today's decisions impact the environment for our future generations through predictive models." Wittenburg highlighted the importance of an innovative IT department in addressing emerging challenges and opportunities while creating positive and sustainable outcomes for the future.

The Raleigh Environmental Awards recognize excellence in climate action, community engagement, and corporate stewardship in the city. These awards celebrate the dedication of community members who contribute to making Raleigh a healthier, greener, and more sustainable city.
