City of Raleigh announces 2024 Volunteer Enrichment Fund recipients

The City of Raleigh has announced the recipients of the 2024 Volunteer Raleigh Enrichment Fund, a program dedicated to recognizing and supporting outstanding volunteer organizations that impact the community.

The Volunteer Raleigh Enrichment Fund aims to empower local organizations by providing financial support and resources to further their missions related to their volunteer base. The fund seeks to foster a culture of community service, highlighting the significant role volunteers play in addressing social, economic, and environmental challenges.

Twelve organizations have been selected for their contributions to enhancing the quality of life in Raleigh. This year’s winners represent a diverse array of organizations, each with a unique mission and a shared commitment to improving Raleigh. The recipients are:

- Activate Good: Mobilizing volunteers for projects that address critical community needs.

- Alliance Medical Ministry: Providing affordable healthcare services to uninsured and underinsured residents of Wake County.

- Darkness RISING Project: Promoting mental health awareness through creative arts and community engagement.

- Dress for Success Triangle NC: Empowering women with professional attire, career development tools, and support networks.

- Healing Transitions: Supporting individuals struggling with addiction through recovery programs.

- Oak City Cares: Offering coordinated services including shelter, food, and support to individuals experiencing homelessness.

- Roots with Purpose: Impacting the unsheltered community in Wake County and surrounding areas.

- StepUp Ministry: Providing employment and life skills training for economic stability.

- The Encouraging Place: Fostering racial reconciliation and community healing through dialogue, education, and outreach.

- The Family Violence Prevention Center, Inc., dba InterAct: Offering comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

- Wake Education Partnership: Enhancing educational outcomes by partnering with schools, businesses, and the community.

- Wake Smiles: Providing free and low-cost dental care to underserved populations.

"We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the 2024 Volunteer Raleigh Enrichment Fund winners," stated city officials. "Together, we are building a stronger, more compassionate Raleigh."
