Coastal commission meeting to discuss environmental agendas in Manteo

The North Carolina Coastal Resources Commission (CRC) is set to convene on April 30 and May 1 at the Dare County Government Center located at 954 Marshall C. Collins Drive, Manteo. The commencement of the CRC's regular business meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. on April 30 and will continue at 9 a.m. the following day. A public input and comment session is planned for 9:15 a.m. on May 1. The chair may limit comments to three minutes per participant. Attendance to the CRC meeting is possible both in-person and via an online link.

The Coastal Resources Advisory Council (CRAC) will hold its meeting on April 30 at 9 a.m. in a conference room at the same venue. Attendance for the CRAC meeting is limited to in-person participation.

The commission’s agenda comprises several items over the two days:

On April 30, discussions will include consideration of variance requests, discussions on environmental concern forms, fiscal analyses for ocean hazard areas, urban waterfront evaluation, sand fencing maintenance, and a public hearing on Jockey’s Ridge.

On May 1, topics will cover approval of beach management plans, updates on litigation, and a field trip to Buxton and Rodanthe.
