Applications for the new Raleigh Engagement Network will be accepted beginning July 1. The network is designed for community groups not tied to a specific location, including those formed around similar interests, values, cultures, and social ties. The goal of the network is to expand knowledge of city services and opportunities to participate in the greater Raleigh community.

The Raleigh Engagement Network aims to provide organizations with resources such as city equipment, capacity building assistance, assigned city staff contacts, two mailings per year, access to Community Centers, and priority access to the Engagement Van.

On April 16, Raleigh City Council authorized staff to launch the Engagement Network for affinity groups as well as small non-profits and student groups.

Interested organizations can register by filling out an online application. All applications will be reviewed by staff from the Office of Community Engagement. Once approved, applicants will be contacted with more information on next steps. Access to benefits will start approximately 30 days after application submission.

Neighborhoods interested in connecting with the City should join the Raleigh Neighborhood Registry instead. A chart provided helps groups determine which network suits their needs:

Citizen Advisory Councils (CACs) are advised not to join the Engagement Network. The City Council continues to work on providing support for CACs. However, CAC members can reserve specific community centers via an online form.
